The Mater Dei Band program consists of over 200 students in eight middle schools and one high school within the Evansville Catholic Diocese in Evansville, Indiana. Instrumental music instruction begins in the 5th grade at the middle school level at each of the eight feeder middle schools. The Mater Dei High School bands include concert band, the Marching Wildcats marching band, jazz band, and pep band. A dedicated team of teachers provide instruction at all levels. 

Band Boosters

The Mater Dei High School Band Boosters are the philanthropic unit of the Mater Dei Band organization. The purpose of the Mater Dei Band Boosters is to raise money and coordinate parent/volunteer activities for the support of the band program and directors at Mater Dei High School. 

School and Community

Mater Dei High School is located in Evansville, Indiana in the southwest corner of the state. Mater Dei High School was constructed in 1949 on the west side of Evansville as a Catholic, co-ed, high school to serve the needs of a growing community. Mater Dei is one of two Catholic high schools that serve the students of Vanderburgh, Posey, and Warrick counties.

 

Mater Dei is a comprehensive school including grades 9 through 12. It is an interparochial Catholic High School operating under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Evansville. Graduation rates are near 100%. The student-teacher ratio is approximately 15 to 1. Mater Dei is accredited by the Indiana Department of education and by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
